Biomechanics timing equipment can use wireless or wired connection system between timer and wide type measuring sensors for speed, jumps, throws, reaction.

Wired connection system is at lower cost, easier to use and has only one high level power supply unit in timer for all the timing system. One battery or rechargeable battery set working time will be about 30...100 hours.If measurement consists only about in one  (silent) place timing, distance not more than 60 m, then it is mutch better, easier and cheaper to use  timing system with wired connection.

Wireless  connection system is always better for team players trainings, reaction measurement and also always when it is necessary  to replace cable.

Wireless connection version - every  wireless timing gate or the other wireless sensor must to have his own power supply unit.

Other (the best and about the same level (dual beam wireless timing gates)) wireless timing system`s power supply units have recheargeable battery use life about 7...15 hours. Practically it means that before every using of this type of wireless timing system all  wireless power supply units must be ( at home) taken off the transport cases and must be reloaded.

Even if the system has all the best recheargeble battery  monitoring and protection systems, still  can happen that battery has about 0...20% capacity, then user forgerts battery`s power on and next time reloads and uses the battery after some month.  Then some elements of recheargeble battery can be damaged and user even does not know that before the wireless timing cate power will switch off (during the most important measurement).

Also , if to compare the other best dual beam timing gate cases, wired or wireless versions, then wireless versions have much bigger case dimensions and still battery life is only 7...15 hours.

I.K. Biomechanics sports timing systems the both, wired and wireless versions all units, battery sets have working time 100 hours during 1 year and 10 hours working time after „low battery“ signal. It means, that if wireless timing system’s one using time is about 2 hours, batteries must be reloaded after  about 30...50 using time and after „ battery low“ signal it is still possible to use the systems 6...10 hours or 3...5 times.
